Senator Golden Announces Long Island Senior Games

Brooklyn – State Senator Marty Golden (R, C) would like to assist the Long Island Senior Games Board of Directors in promoting the Long Island Senior Games of 2011. This is the thirteenth annual GAMES and they will run from May 20th through June 18th. The games are open to people fifty years of age or older and consist of over forty competitive and non-competitive medal and ribbon events. There may me certification in some events to allow the participants to qualify for the National Senior Games.
Senator Golden stated “It is an honor to publicize this great event. The health and well being of our aging population is vital for maintaining the level of dignity and respect these active adults deserve. I wish all of the participants the best of luck and thank the Long Island Senior Games, Board of Directors, staff and volunteers for their efforts. Events like this help to make our state an example within this great nation.”
