Brooklyn- State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn)today issued the following statement after being named one of the strongest supporters of the New York State Business Council’s agenda among all state legislators, earning high marks for his legislative efforts geared towards improving the economic climate of New York State.
“I thank the New York State Business Council for recognizing my record this legislative session as one highlighted by support for job and economic growth. Throughout my legislative career, and formerly as a small business owner and merchant leader, I have always recognized the importance of economic development and fiscal responsibility.
This year, I proudly supported a variety of efforts to reduce spending, create jobs, and reform our budget process. These accomplishments were not done simply for praise, further we took these steps primarily to improve the economic conditions throughout the Empire State.
This is the time for New York to curtail spending, create economic opportunities and put people back to work. Our residents and businesses deserve nothing less.”
