April 29, 2011
Senator Owen H. Johnson recently joined elected officials, dignitaries and Bay Shore and Brightwaters residents at the 17th Annual Bay Shore Summit to celebrate the triumph of the school and business communities, the transformation of downtown Bay Shore, and to honor the Summit’s founder, retiring School Superintendent Dr. Evelyn Blose Holman.
Senator Johnson also spoke about additional school aid funding restored to Long Island Schools in the State Budget and legislation he has introduced in the Senate (S.2635) to allow for the transfer of the Bay Shore Armory to the Bay Shore Union Free School District for a nominal fee. Bay Shore intends to use the property for educational purposes to meet the needs of the school district.
