(Jamaica, NY) – Senator Shirley L. Huntley (D-Jamaica), an advocate for the advancement of the elderly, will celebrate Senior Week in Queens with an “Oldies But Goodies Luncheon”, marking her 5th annual event. Invited elders from the community will eat, dance and fellowship as they enjoy an afternoon out. Last year’s luncheon was a great success and well attended by 600 seniors and I expect this year’s luncheon to surpass that amount.
Senator Huntley’s annual luncheon is a part of a week-long celebration sponsored by various Queens elected officials. For the 9th year, seniors are showered with appreciation to give them their due – thanking them for their tireless efforts over the years.
