BUFFALO, N.Y. – Albany newsmagazine The Capitol has named Senator Timothy M. Kennedy, D-58th District, a rising star in New York government and politics in its annual “40 Under 40” section. The list acknowledges men and women whose impact has already been felt early in their careers and who possess high potential for the future.
“There is a lot of work that needs to be done in Albany and in Western New York, and I appreciate The Capitol for recognizing me as someone who can get the job done,” Senator Kennedy said.
To introduce “40 Under 40” 2011, The Capitol writes, “This year’s crop of rising stars represents a cross-section of the idealism and aggressiveness that drive the best to succeed—40 people under 40 years old, toiling in statewide politics or state government, whose accomplishments to date aren’t enough to satisfy them.
Senator Kennedy is one of only six state legislators – and the only legislator from Western New York – on the “40 Under 40” rising stars list. This is the third year The Capitol has published their rising stars list.
