Senator Golden Partners WITH American Italian Cancer Foundation to Provide Free Mammogram Screenings

Brooklyn- State Senator Marty Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn) today is announcing that he will host two breast cancer screening events, sponsored by the American Italian Cancer Foundation, this Fall and is encouraging women in the community to call now for an appointment.

 

A mobile mammography van, staffed completely by women, will be outside Senator Golden's District Office at 3604 Quentin Road on Wednesday, October 31st from 10:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m. and outside his office located at 7408-5th Avenue on Thursday, November 1st, also from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Women interested in appointments must be over 40 years of age and have not had a mammogram in the past year. An appointment must be made by calling Senator Golden's office at (718) 238-6044. Test results will be sent to the individual and/or their doctor.

 

Senator Marty Golden stated, "I am proud to partner with the American Italian Cancer Foundation to make available free mammography screenings for women forty years and older and bring public awareness to the importance of getting tested. Early detection of breast cancer saves lives, and I encourage all those who have not had a mammogram in more than a year to make an appointment and to get screened.”
