Brooklyn – State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn) today is announcing that he will welcome the New York Legal Assistance Group Mobile Legal Help Center to provide free legal assistance related to housing and consumer protection issues.
Lawyers will be onboard the van, which is a partnership of the New York Legal Assistance Group and the New York State Courts’ Access to Justice Program, outside Senator Golden’s district office located at 7408-5th Avenue in Brooklyn, on Sunday, June 3, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. during the 5th Avenue Festival.
Private meeting rooms and technology inside the vehicle enable it to function as a full-service office. Everyone is eligible to receive free legal services regardless of immigration status.
Senator Marty Golden stated, “I know that there are so many legal questions related to housing and consumer protection issues. That is why I have made arrangements to have this van parked at my district office, during the 5th Avenue Festival, so that many of my constituents can get free legal advice. I hope that local residents will board the “Mobile Legal Help Center”, and obtain free civil legal service.”
For more information, or for any additional questions, contact Senator Golden’s office at (718) 238-6044 or e-mail him at golden@nysenate.gov.
