Congratulates Owners, Details past History and Announced Support of Small Businesses
Brooklyn, NY – State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I), joined George Kremidas and Billy Grillas, the owners of The Bath Beach Diner, located at 2028 Bath Avenue, to congratulate them on their grand opening and speak to the press regarding his record of working with small businesses.
“I know how hard it is to run a small business, and I want to thank George Kremidas and Billy Grillas for investing in our community,” Senator Golden said. “George and Billy have owned and operated the Off Shore Diner for eighteen years, and they have seen both good and tough times, but through it all, they have stayed true to their commitment to our community. Today they are opening their second business in South Brooklyn, and I want to wish them luck and thank them for all that they do.”
“Senator Golden has been a friend to small businesses for decades, he started the Fifth Avenue Board of Trade, The Voice of Bay Ridge Business, and owned a small business himself,” stated Billy Grillas, owner of both Off Shore Diner and the Bath Beach Diner. “Without community leaders like Senator Golden, we would not be able to be here today to open our second small business.”
Golden also spoke of his successes in the legislature over the past two years.
“I have pushed constantly to lower taxes on small businesses, to allow them to grow, and give back to our community,” said Golden. “I worked to eliminate the MTA payroll tax for businesses just like this one. I have cut taxes for middle class workers, giving 4.4 million taxpayers more money in their pocket, and we now have the lowest tax rate in 58 years. I have stood with our small businesses, every step of the way. From working with our Business Improvement Districts and Merchant Associations, to helping small business owners in my community to fight unfair tickets and convoluted regulations that cost our small businessmen time and money, I stand with our small businesses because I know what it means to run one.”
Senator Golden presented The Bath Beach Diner with a certificate from the New York State Senate, and helped cut the ribbon to signal the official grand opening of the diner.
