The West Babylon Little League along with Senator Owen H. Johnson hosted a Blood Drive on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at the Senator Owen Johnson Community Center located at 71 Sawyer Avenue in Lindenhurst.
A total of 81 pints of blood were collected by Long Island Blood Services at the event. All 87 donors received a pair of Mets tickets for their generosity. Since each blood donation can help to save up to three lives, this blood drive alone could potentially save up to 243 lives.
“I would like to thank all of those who took time out of their busy schedules to donate blood,” Senator Johnson said. “It is especially important to ensure that blood is available whenever and wherever it is needed. A special thanks to the West Babylon Little League and Long Island Blood Services for making that happen.”
