State Senator Patty Ritchie congratulated Ogdensburg Pepsi Cola Bottlers, the Wright family and the company’s employees for being chosen as the top North American distributor of the year.

“It’s a real tribute to a hard working North Country family that has built its success on a 70-year tradition of involvement and service to communities across St. Lawrence County,” Senator Ritchie said. “I am very pleased to see Ogdensburg Pepsi Cola Bottlers win a national honor, but everyone who knows this company recognizes that it’s owners and employees have played an important role for decades in the success of many community organizations, festivals and events.”

The company had been chosen as one of three finalists from around the nation for the Donald Kendall Bottler of the Year Award. The award was presented Tuesday night in Las Vegas at Pepsi Cola convention.

Company CEO Bonnie Winter Wright and her husband, General Manager Richard Wright operate the three generation, family-owned company with their son, Scott, who works as the sales manager.

The award is based on per capita sales, community involvement and other factors. Senator Ritchie visited the company's Ogdensburg plant recently as part of her "Where You Work" tour.
