“IT SEEMS THAT THERE WAS A CAT IN THE BAG”

It so happens, that one week after the congressional elections and after Senator Adriano Espaillat conceded a defeat, it seems that as far as the count is concerned "there is a cat in the bag."

The night of New York State Congressional election, last Tuesday, June 26, Congressman Charlie Rangel was given a victory by a margin of 6% of the vote.

Now we have become aware that out of the 506 election precincts there is still 32 not counted and some 3,174 written ballots and affidavits of people who were unable to vote in the machines because their names did not appear in the registry.

In the new count, that still has not been completed, Congressman Rangel’s lead has shrunk to just about 800 votes.

This has caused State Senator Adriano Espaillat to take his concerns to court and let a judge clarify this confusion.

So my dear readers, with all this mess, there are indications and a great possibility that after 32 precincts and 3,174 votes in ballots and affidavits are counted, the tide can change and Senator Adriano Espaillat could become the winner.

As some old proverbs say " It is never too late if the happiness is good" "he who laughs last laughs best" and "No matter how early you get up you can’t make the sun rise any sooner"

I on my part would like to quote some Biblical quotes: " Unless the Lord builds the house, those who built it labor in vain" and "Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.”

You should know that one way or another I and many others have the impression and fear that when the original count was done "there was a cat in the bag" and in the end someone will "stay with the rifle on his shoulder"

I am State Senator Rev. Rubén Díaz and this is What You Should Know.
