Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) announced that the Department of Motor Vehicles’ Massapequa Office (927 Carmans Road, Carmans Plaza Shopping Center, Massapequa) is offering expanded hours of operation as part of a new initiative to improve customer service.
“Expanded service hours will make it easier and more convenient for residents to visit DMV and perform their transactions. This is a step in the right direction that will improve the way DMV serves its customers,” said Senator Fuschillo, Chairman of the Senate’s Transportation Committee.
The Massapequa DMV office will now be open from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Fridays.
According to DMV, the new, expanded hours of operation are being offered as part of a pilot program to improve customer service and determine what hours of operation are most convenient and efficient for both customers and DMV.
The pilot program is one of several major customer service initiatives which are aimed at making the DMV more accessible, easier to use, and customer friendly. $4.5 million in funding for the new initiatives was included in this year’s state budget.
