Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) today announced that he secured $30,000 in state funding for security improvements at schools in the Freeport School District.

The funding will be used to help offset the costs of purchasing and installing keyless door entry systems. According to the district, these new trackable access push systems will greatly enhance the safety and security of the district’s students and staff.

“Keeping students safe is priority number one. Using these funds, the Freeport School District will be able to enhance their security systems to improve the safety of students, staff, and parents. I am pleased to have secured this funding for the Freeport School District,” said Senator Fuschillo.

“On behalf of the Freeport School District, we thank Senator Fuschillo for securing $30,000 in state funding which will help defray the cost of enhancing the security system with a keyless door entry system. We are grateful for his continued support of our students and schools,” said Dr. Kishore Kuncham, Superintendent of the Freeport School District.
