Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) recently attended the grand reopening of AcQua Restaurant in Merrick.
AcQua is a waterfront restaurant located at 1944 Bayberry Avenue in South Merrick which originally opened in July 2012. After being open just a few months, the restaurant was completely destroyed by Superstorm Sandy, with nearly five feet of water gutting the dining room, kitchen, and electrical systems. The restaurant also sustained tremendous structural damage. Despite the overwhelming damage, AcQua’s owners, Fabio and Francesco Giambanco worked tirelessly to reopen the restaurant and keep the business in the Merrick community.
Senator Fuschillo congratulated the Giambanco family on the reopening of AcQua and extended them his best wishes for many years of success.

They are joined by Assemblyman Dave McDonough, Legislator Dave Denenberg, Steve Rhoads (representing County Executive Ed Mangano), Alex Vassallo (representing County Comptroller George Maragos), Merrick Chamber of Commerce President Randy Shotland, and South Merrick Community Civic Association President Joe Baker.
