Nominate An Outstanding Veteran

James L. Seward

April 12, 2013

ONEONTA, 04/12/13 – State Senator James L. Seward (R/C/I-Oneonta) today invited local residents to nominate veterans from their community whose service on behalf of our nation designates them worthy of induction into the New York State Veterans’ Hall of Fame.

“The New York State Senate Veterans’ Hall of Fame was created to honor and recognize outstanding veterans from the Empire State who have distinguished themselves both in military and civilian life,” said Senator Seward.  “Their meritorious service to our nation deserves the special recognition that only a hall of fame can provide, as a fitting expression of our gratitude and admiration.”

This on-line hall of fame is designed to pay tribute to New Yorkers whose gallantry in the U.S. Armed Forces is complemented by their service to the community.

The New York State Senate will honor distinguished veterans from throughout the state at a May 21st  Albany ceremony, where each honoree’s photograph and biography will become part of a special on-line exhibit proclaiming the contributions of these exemplary New York veterans.

Veterans who live in the 51st senate district are eligible to be considered for recognition.  The easiest way to nominate a veteran is by filling out a special on-line form by CLICKING HERE.

Nomination forms are also available by contacting Senator Seward’s district office at (607) 432-5524.

All nominations must be submitted by April 30th and include a brief biography and high resolution photograph. Full instructions are contained in the on-line nomination form.
