Senator Lee M. Zeldin (R-C-I, Shirley) today issued the following statement upon viewing the 2013 State of the State Message issued today by Governor Andrew Cuomo.
“I look forward to tackling the many tough challenges ahead and providing effective representation to the residents and local communities I represent. We need to continue the progress we have made to end the dysfunction in Albany and restore an effective, responsive, and responsible state government.
Clearly we must unburden hardworking New Yorkers from the crushing taxes that affect their family budgets and quality of life. We must make government work better and cost less, and we must develop better strategies that support our small businesses and create jobs on Long Island and throughout the state. The Governor also properly recognized the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy, and I will continue to work with him to ensure that our communities receive all the help they need as quickly as possible.
I look forward to another on-time, balanced State Budget that continues to control spending, deliver tax relief and reform government operations.”
