Senator Mark Grisanti (R, I-60) recently announced the appointment of Ric Dimpfl as his fire, EMS and emergency services liaison for the Southtowns portion of the 60th New York State Senate District.

A Village of Hamburg resident, Dimpfl served in a similar capacity in the past for two former New York State assemblymen who also represented the Southtowns region of Western New York.
“Ric is the ideal person to fill this volunteer role for me by serving as my liaison to all of the volunteer fire companies and other emergency response organizations based in the Southtowns,” says Senator Grisanti. “Ric knows the area and will work closely with me and my staff in my district office in Buffalo to make sure an ongoing dialogue continues so I can better understand the needs of the many dedicated men and women who volunteer their time and skills to provide our community with quality public safety.”

Dimpfl served as the fire, EMS and emergency services liaison in the past for Assemblyman Kevin Smardz and Assemblyman Jack Quinn III. He currently presides as the Chairman of the Board for the Southtowns HazMat Team and also fills the role of emergency coordinator for the Village of Hamburg. A member of the Town of Hamburg Emergency Management Team, he is a longtime member and past officer of the Hamburg Volunteer Fire Department and serves as president of marketing and sales for the Firefighter Newspaper.

Senator Grisanti and his staff will interact with Dimpfl on a wide variety of topics that impact local volunteer firefighters and other first responders, including feedback on proposed legislation, state funding for each department and future events that can help bring awareness to the work they do that often goes unnoticed.

“I am encouraged by Ric’s enthusiasm and vast knowledge and his contacts throughout the Southtowns will be utilized whenever someone has a question or a concern,” says Senator Grisanti. “It is my hope to work closely with all of these outstanding citizens in the hopes of improving their already stellar work in providing the public with peace of mind knowing they are always ready, willing and able to act anytime there is a request for emergency service.”
