August 1, 2013

Brooklyn – State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn) and Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis (R-C, Brooklyn/Staten Island) will host a press conference tomorrow, Friday, August 2, 2013, at 11:00 a.m, outside the Shirley Day Spa located at 7811-5th Avenue , to announce the introduction of legislation that would end the late hours of operation of day spas, increase penalties for violations, and crack down on prostitution, sex trafficking and human trafficking.

Recently, District Attorney Hynes and the NYPD shut down almost a dozen day spas in the area and arrested 19 workers. Golden and Malliotakis have received complaints about numerous other spas in the area since the arrests earlier this month.
