Effort Builds Upon 3 St. Lawrence County Clinics Where 300 Pets Received Vaccinations
State Senator Patty Ritchie is reminding pet owners that she will host three no-cost rabies clinics throughout the month of October in Jefferson County.
The free clinics—which are being hosted in conjunction with the Jefferson County Public Health Department—are being made possible through a special grant secured by Senator Ritchie.
In total, more than 300 pets were recently vaccinated through three no-cost clinics Senator Ritchie hosted in St. Lawrence County. So far this year, St. Lawrence County has confirmed 23 cases of rabies and Jefferson County has confirmed five cases.
Senator Ritchie’s Jefferson County clinics will be held on the following dates from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.:
Wednesday, October 16: Adams Village Barn, 70 North Park St.
Wednesday, October 23: Town of LeRay Highway Barn, 8433 Willow St. Evans Mills
Wednesday, October 30: Alexandria Bay Village Fire Department, 110 Walton St.
Please note that all pets receiving a vaccine must be leashed or in a carrier. If available, please bring a copy of your pet’s last certificate of vaccination.
