Services Help Dozens From Wyandanch and Surrounding Communities
Wyandanch, NY - Senator Phil Boyle (R-Bay Shore) sponsored a program at the Wyandanch Public Library providing free civil legal services to those in need. On Wednesday, May 15th, staff aboard the Mobile Legal Help Center opened their doors to local residents from 10AM until 4PM.
Senator Boyle invited counselors from the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG) to provide free legal assistance to local residents on issues related to Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, foreclosure, Family Health Plus, Child Health Plus and family law. Dozens of local residents took advantage of the free service.
“In these tough economic times, I am pleased to bring NYLAG’s legal professionals into the Wyandanch community to assist local residents with free legal services," said Senator Phil Boyle. "We had a great turnout today and I look forward to bringing the Mobile Legal Help Center into other communities within the 4th Senate District in the near future.”
The Mobile Legal Help Center is a partnership between the New York Legal Assistance Group and the New York State Courts’ Access to Justice Program that provides free civil legal services to New Yorkers in need. Private meeting rooms and technology inside the Mobile Legal Help Center enable it to function as a full-service office.
