SENATOR TERRY GIPSON HOLDS INAUGURAL PUTNAM VETERANS ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING
PHILIPSTOWN, NY – Senator Terry Gipson (D-Dutchess, Putnam) held the inaugural meeting of his Putnam County Veteran Advisory Committee last evening at the The American Legion George A. Casey Post 275 in the Village of Cold Spring. Representatives from local VFW posts, American Legion posts, local government and veteran organizations joined Senator Gipson to discuss the needs and issues important to veterans and their families in the Hudson Valley.
“We have an obligation to ensure our veterans and their families have the services and opportunities for benefits and employment they deserve,” said Senator Gipson. “I created this advisory committee so that we can work together to make sure veterans have a voice in state government. Veterans who return home should have access to a good job, education, affordable healthcare and a solid roof over their heads.”
Senator Gipson held his first Dutchess County Veteran Advisory Committee meeting on May 3, 2013. The advisory committee is scheduled to meet bi-monthly.
