Senator Martins Statement on Mta’s Attempt to Make Mta Payroll Tax Permanent as Part of Proposed Capital Plan
Jack M. Martins
September 23, 2014
"The MTA payroll tax must be repealed entirely, not made permanent. I am disappointed in the MTA's including it as a funding mechanism for their capital plan and will continue to oppose this tax that has robbed businesses and taxpayers on Long Island of hundreds of millions of dollars and countless jobs. The MTA needs to go back to the drawing board and stop treating Long Island like its own ATM."
