Senator John Bonacic announces that the Town of Gardiner has been awarded $50,000 in funding from the Municipal Facilities Program.

Plans call for increased parking spots for recreational events, and an extension of sidewalks to directly connect Town Hall, Gardiner’s business district, ball fields and rail trail.

“We heartily thank Senator Bonacic for this funding,” said Gardiner Town Supervisor, Carl Zatz.  “Parking, sidewalks, and trails are the buzzwords of a rejuvenated town, and Senator Bonacic recognized the benefit to extend the Town’s recently completed sidewalk project past its historic Town Hall to 25 new parking spaces. This will provide access to ball fields, the central hamlet, and its park and trail system, and with a bus stop enclosure designed into the plan, Gardiner can look forward to public transportation in the near future. Senator Bonacic’s funding will turn just another good idea into reality.”

“I am pleased to be able to help Gardiner with these projects that will help residents and visitors have better and safer access to Town Hall and recreational areas,” said Senator Bonacic.
