Senator John Bonacic (R/C/I – Mt. Hope) announces that the Village of Otisville has been awarded $50,000 in funding from the State & Municipal Facilities Capital Program.
The funding will go towards replacing many of the Village’s water mains, many of which create frequent service interruptions due to breaks and leaks.
“Many of the Village water mains are in great need of replacement,” said Mayor Brian Wona, “The day to day operation and maintenance of a municipal water system is so costly that we had to rely on grant opportunities for replacing the larger water mains. This grant will allow us to replace these mains without taking out a bond and adding on more debt to our residents, and we are very grateful.”
“I am pleased to be able to secure these funds for the Village of Otisville,” said Senator Bonacic. “Municipal water systems in any village or town puts great wear and tear on the pipes, and replacing them before a major breakdown is always a wise move.”
