Senator Jack M. Martins (R-7th Senate District) was recently sworn in for his third term as New York State Senator for the 7th Senate District.
“I thank the residents of our community for again entrusting me with the privilege of representing them in Albany. It’s an honor which I will continue to cherish,” said Senator Martins.
Senator Martins looks forward to building on the progress of his first four years in Albany, which saw middle class income rates cut to their lowest levels in 60 years; the implementation of the property tax cap; reforms to lower the cost of doing business in New York State, including the repeal of the MTA payroll tax for small businesses and schools; and the adoption of four on-time, fiscally responsible state budgets which closed a $10 billion budget deficit by controlling spending without raising a single tax or fee. Additional issues he will be working on include fighting for additional state education aid for local schools; working towards smart investments in infrastructure to promote economic development and enhance safety, and fighting to protect Long Island’s quality of life.
“We’ve made tremendous progress over the last four years, but there’s a lot of work still left to be done. I look forward to continue working to keep New York State moving forward,” Senator Martins added.
