Beloved band wows Westchester residents at Senator Klein’s Summertime Symphonies Series
MT. VERNON, NY - State Senator Jeff Klein (D-Bronx/Westchester), together with the Fleetwood Neighborhood Association, hundreds of community members, children and families, hosted FDR Drive at Broad Street Playground on Friday.
“As a young kid, I would often travel to Manhattan to enjoy the fun outdoor entertainment provided during the summer. Now, many years later, my summer concert series has become a tradition in Westchester – bringing together the community to kick back, relax and enjoy some great music with friends and family. I proudly hosted FDR Drive in Mt. Vernon to provide first-rate entertainment for our families, friends and neighbors. Thank you to everyone who came out and I look forward to many more fun events coming up this summer,” said Senator Jeff Klein.
For years, FDR Drive has wowed crowds across the tri-state area with show-stopping performances. The band is best known as one of New York’s premier cover bands, playing a mix of chart-topping hits from the ‘70s, ‘80s, ‘90s, Motown, and today.
"Nothing brings the community together like a night of great music with friends and family. Thank you Senator Klein for bringing FDR Drive to Broad Street Playground and for kicking off this summer weekend with a special treat. I look forward to continuing to work together to invest in the Mt. Vernon community and improve the quality of life for all our residents," said Mike Justino, president of the Fleetwood Neighborhood Association.
Senator Klein’s Summertime Symphonies Series continues this month with Alive & Kickin’ on Monday, August 24 at 7:00 p.m at Ambrosini Field and Chubby Checker on Wednesday, August 26 at 7:00 p.m. at Loreto Park. For more information, please call Senator Klein’s office at (718) 822-2049.
