(Brooklyn, NY - September 17, 2015) This evening, NYS Senator Jesse Hamilton joined colleagues, clergy, anti-violence advocates, and hundreds of concerned community members in a Peace Over Violence March in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Marchers included Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, NYS Senator Velmanette Montgomery, NYS Assembly Member Diana Rirchardson, and NYC Council Member Laurie Cumbo. Marching down Eastern Parkway, participants chanted "Enough is enough!" and "Stop shooting, start living!" as part of continuing concerted community action to support a broad-based anti-violence agenda. The march comes after last week's emergency meeting hosted by Brooklyn Borough President Adams and a Prayer Vigil near the site of a Labor Day weekend shooting that resulted in the death of Governor Cuomo aide Caray Gabay.
