(Middletown, NY)- Senator Bonacic is pleased to announce that he has secured $61,000 for Rape Crisis Services in Orange County, a program administered by the Mental Health Association (MHA) of Orange County. The mission of MHA is to promote the mental health and emotional well being of Orange County residents. The $61,000 will go towards rape crisis services and prevention initiatives.
“These are critical funds that will go a long way towards helping the Mental Health Association provide service and education,” said Bonacic. “By providing these resources in Orange County, we can take a step towards one day ending sexual violence, while at the same time empowering victims to seek help when they are attacked.”
“This is a great day for MHA in Orange County’s Rape Crisis Program, said Nadia Allen, Executive Director of the Mental Health Association of Orange County. “This funding will allow MHA to continue to provide vital community crisis response and prevention capacity to address sexual assault. MHA’s strength comes from the collective voices of community advocates like Senator John Bonacic, and we thank him for his advocacy, support and dedication to the survivors and families we have the privilege to serve.”
