(New York, NY)- Senator Serrano commended the Wage Board's recommendation to increase fast food workers' minimum wages to $15/hour. The recommendation was finalized on Monday, July 22nd, and would apply to fast-food workers in restaurants with 30 or more locations. It would be phased in over three years in New York City and six years throughout the rest of the state.
"I applaud the Wage Board's monumental recommendation to increase the wages to $15/hour. This will not only provide economic benefits for our fast food workers across the state, but for the communities they call home. These new and historic fairer wages will lift so many working families out of poverty and allow for them to afford to continue to live and raise families in New York," said Senator Serrano.
