“Yesterday, I voted to support the State Senate’s Brighter Future Budget Plan. This Budget plan stakes out and highlights my priorities for what should be included in the budget. It is a fiscally responsible proposal that should serve as a blueprint for an enacted budget that cuts taxes, creates jobs and invests in education, the environment, and New York’s future.
The plan builds a brighter future for overburdened, middle-class taxpayers through the creation of a new property tax rebate program. It also builds a brighter future for job creators and job seekers by supporting critical infrastructure and technology programs and creates a brighter future for students by providing historic new opportunities to allow them to succeed and follow their dreams.
This is the starting point for delivering an on time State Budget. I am looking forward to now going to conference committees with our Assembly colleagues to negotiate a budget that builds a brighter future for all New Yorkers.”
