“Ninety-four years ago today, our nation took a great leap forward in being a more perfect union by passing the 19th Amendment and recognizing a woman’s right to vote. Now, on the cusp of the first ever woman President of the United States, celebrating Women’s Equality Day is both an honor and a grave responsibility. With women’s equality and health care protections at stake in this Presidential Election, it has never been more important for us to exercise our 19th Amendment right to have our voices heard. This Women’s Equality Day, I urge all New Yorkers, men and women alike, to recommit ourselves to building a stronger and more just society for our daughters and their daughters.”
