Senator Jack M. Martins (R-7th Senate District) announced that he has secured state grant funding to enhance services at the Hillside Public Library.

The $10,000 in state funding will help offset the costs of a flexible modular meeting room which will be used for community programming and meetings, quiet studying, and book discussions.  Using adaptable modular fixtures allows the Library to arrange the room in different ways to accommodate these varying community needs.

“The Hillside Library is a community hub for New Hyde Park residents which serves a variety of different functions; delivering programs and services, offering educational resources and serving as a meeting place for community groups.  Providing this funding will help the Library better accommodate those needs and the residents they serve,” said Senator Martins.

“Thank you Senator Martins for your support of the Hillside Public Library and library systems that serve as a cornerstone of New York's educational infrastructure. The way people access and use libraries has been changing and the design of a modular space will allow us the flexibility that is necessary to address these needs. This funding brings us closer to realizing this space,” said Hillside Library Director Charlene Noll.
