Senator Jack M. Martins (R-7th Senate District) announced that he has secured state grant funding to enhance services at the Shelter Rock Public Library.
Using the $20,000 in state funding, the Library will continue purchasing subscriptions for e-books through the Overdrive Advantage program and downloadable music with Freegal, services which the Library could not otherwise afford. The Library will also be able to purchase Launchpads for patrons’ use.
“Shelter Rock Public Library is offering a great benefit to patrons through these programs. Enabling the Library to continue providing free access to these services and purchase additional technology will benefit the entire community,” said Senator Martins.
“Our patrons greatly appreciate access to the Nassau Digital Doorway Advantage E-book Program and the Freegal service. With this funding we are pleased to be able to add Launchpad tablets that are loaded with interactive learning apps and games for our youngest patrons. We are so thankful and appreciative of Senator Martins' support of the Shelter Rock Public Library," said Shelter Rock Public Library Director Andrea Meluskey.
