Senator Jack M. Martins (R-7th Senate District) recently congratulated Albertson residents Sabreen Bhuiya, Ayesha Chhugani and Vikram Krishamoorthy on being chosen as national semi-finalists in the 2016 Intel Science Talent Search.  The three young scientists recently graduated from Herricks High School.

“Sabreen, Ayesha and Vikram are incredibly bright students whose talents have earned them national recognition.  It’s a wonderful reward for their many hours of research, study and hard work.  Congratulations to these three young rising stars on what I’m sure will be the first of many incredible achievements,” said Senator Martins.

Participants from all across the country, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands compete in the talent search, considered the nation’s most prestigious pre-college science competition. Sabreen, Ayesha and Vikram are three of only 300 semifinalists chosen from entries nationwide.

Senator Martins presented Sabreen, Ayesha and Vikram with legislative resolutions he sponsored, which were passed by the Senate, in recognition of their accomplishment. With passage of the resolutions, their names and achievement will forever be part of the New York State Senate’s official record.
