Senator Jack M. Martins (R-7th Senate District, pictured third right) recently joined with the Herricks School District in celebrating the grand opening of a new Life Skills classroom at Herricks High School. Senator Martins secured state funding to help the district create the classroom, which will benefit students in Herricks’ Vocational Independence Program.
Modeled after an apartment, the classroom will help students with developmental disabilities learn day to day tasks that will enable them to become more independent, as well as vocational skills that will help them gain employment.
