Howard Beach, NY (October 20, 2016) Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. recently sponsored his annual CUNY informational session to provide details about the network of schools to students looking to enroll.

The event, held last weekend at Maspeth High School, welcomed over 100 prospective students to hear information regarding enrollment, academic programs, student life, financial assistance, scholarship programs and much more. The students, ranging in age from high school freshman to those looking to enter a graduate program, had the opportunity to meet with representatives from CUNY to ask questions and learn more about the network of more than 20 schools across the city.

This year marked the third year in a row that Addabbo has partnered with CUNY to sponsor the informational event and the Senator looks forward to sponsoring similar events in the future.

“College can be an overwhelming experience right from the beginning, including choosing where to apply and eventually attend,” said Addabbo. “We are fortunate to have a city full of colleges and universities within the CUNY network that not only offer a high-quality education, but are also affordable for students from all walks of life. By gathering representatives from some of the best schools in New York all in one place, we can take much of the pressure off potential applicants who have questions but do not know where to turn to find the answers. I am proud to have hosted this event in my district once again this year and look forward to a continued partnership with CUNY to ensure every New Yorkers knows that an affordable, quality education is always located right in their backyard.”
