BROOKLYN, NY (3/9/16) – Today, Verizon will team up with WomenVeterans.com for a Women Veterans Virtual Career Fair, which will take place online from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. “As the Ranking Democratic Member of the Senate Committee on Energy and Telecommunications, I am proud to support Verizon’s use of technology to create opportunities for veterans to seek employment from the comfort of their homes,” said State Senator Kevin Parker.

"Hiring the best talent in the industry and hiring Veterans are not mutually exclusive efforts," said Leecia Eve, Vice President of Government Affairs, NY/NJ/CT at Verizon. "We are proud to employ more than 13,000 Veterans who play a critical role in helping Verizon deliver best-in-class communications services to our customers. We would not be a success without them."

"Supporting and engaging our military is a top priority at Verizon. We seek to hire service members in all areas of our business, and leverage all available digital platforms to connect with them about career opportunities," stated Evan Guzman, Head of Military Programs & Veteran Affairs at Verizon.

"I applaud Verizon for making the employment of our Veteran's a priority. They keep us safe here at home and when they return, we should be making every effort to ensure that they are well taken care of. Especially in light of the service they gave to our country," said Parker. "Verizon has taken a step in the right direction with this effort to support and celebrate women Veterans during Women's History Month," concluded the Brooklyn Democrat.
