Senator Mike Nozzolio recently welcomed Cornell University President Elizabeth Garrett, to the New York State Capitol. President Garrett, along with additional Cornell representatives were participating in the annual “Cornell Day” which featured a variety of exhibits and displays open to the public in an effort to educate New Yorkers about Cornell’s research and extension programs.

“As a proud alumnus of Cornell University, ILR ’73 and Grad ‘77 I have worked tirelessly to help position the University for job growth and economic development in the Finger Lakes region throughout my tenure,” said Senator Nozzolio. “Creating local jobs and growing our economy through initiatives such as the new Institute for Food Safety, the reconstruction of over 21,000 square feet of greenhouse and research facilities at the New York State Agricultural Experiment Station in Geneva and the installation of a High Pressure Processing machine are some important examples. It has been a great pleasure to work with President Garrett on these endeavors.”
