Senator Patrick M. Gallivan (R-C-I, Elma) says funding approved in this year’s state budget will support the rehabilitation and reconstruction of roads and highways across New York State. In all, $100 million is being awarded to 1,600 municipalities through the PAVE NY program administered by the New York State Department of Transportation. Under the program, more $5 million has been designated for projects in the 59th Senate District.
“I continue to support investments in our infrastructure and the fair distribution of these funds across New York State,” Gallivan said. “Maintaining and rebuilding local roads and highways will help ensure the safety of our residents, support commerce and tourism and create hundreds of jobs.”
PAVE NY funds are awarded to counties, cities, towns and villages for roadway resurfacing, widening and realignment, construction of turning lanes, and new drainage to mitigate flooding.
