AMERICAN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY CENTER PARTNERS WITH FIRST HUDSON VALLEY COMIC CON

The American Science and Technology Center in partnership with Hudson Valley Comic Con conducted the American Sci-Tech Tribute to Heroes. The event took place at Hudson Valley Comic Con on May 7, 2016 at Gold’s Exhibition Center in LaGrangeville, NY as follows:

American Science and Technology Center (a local non profit organization based in Hyde Park , NY) and Hudson Valley Comic Con presented  a Patriotic Tribute to Real Life Heroes Awards Ceremony.  Local first responders including police, fire, military  were declared“Superheroes of the Planet”, tying to the Comic Con theme of superheroes as found in comic books, movies and beyond.

 Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro, NY State Senator Sue Serino as well as the Offices for all of the above were present for the a recognition ceremony hosted by Santiago Cirilo. Over 4000 attendees were present at the overall Comic Con weekend. 

Said State Senator Sue Serino about the Tribute to Heroes Event:"I was blown away by the response to the Hudson Valley's first Comic Con," said Senator Serino. "To have the opportunity to honor our everyday heroes in front of the thousands in attendance was truly remarkable. Thank you to everyone who worked to make it a tremendous success and to our heroes--words will never be enough to thank you for your countless sacrifices, but know that we are forever grateful for all that you do for our community and our nation."

Description of the HVCC Event American Science and Technology Center Exhibit–

American Science and Technology Center  Tech and Comic Con as a whole promoted a Collectibles, Comic book, Toys and New Technology Convention May 7th-8th this year. This first in a series was designed to get more Children and Families in America involved in Reading and Technology.   Formerly located in Hyde Park, NY, a team is currently working to re establish a Science Center appealing to kids of all ages.

The American Science and Technology Center exhibit at Comic Con featured the Bridge of a Starship and Animatronic Robot created by ImaginArt Studios especially for this event.

Also included were the latest in High Tech such as Science videos on the Big screen, The Sci-Tech Experience Gallery; Barnes and Noble and ThinkGeek Merchandise and Collectibles, a model of the Dr. Who Tardis created by R&R Renovations, Kitt (The Knight Rider Car) 50/50 Raffles with Prizes, The Terminator and Darth Vader supplied by Think Geek at the Palisades Mall. In addition there were R2D2 and Light Sabers, Star Wars and other Photo Ops, Mother’s Day Family Photos and more. In the future Sci-Tech will add Drones, 3D Printers, A Science Trivia Game Show and much, much more.
