New York, NY - Senate Democratic Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins will speak at the New York City Women’s March tomorrow and call for New York to serve as a progressive example to the nation. Tens of thousands of participants are expected to converge at One Dag Hammarskjold Plaza to stand up against President Trump’s stated goals of rolling back the clock and jeopardizing the rights of millions of Americans.
“New York has always been a beacon of hope and justice. We have been at the forefront of protecting civil rights, women’s rights, public education and American values,” Senate Democratic Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins said. “The Women’s March on NYC will send a strong message that we will continue to fight any attacks on these bedrock American principals.”
The New York City Women’s March is one of many taking place from Washington D.C. and across the United States. The mission and vision for the march is people standing to together in “solidarity with our partners and children for the protection of our rights, our safety, our health, and our families - recognizing that our vibrant and diverse communities are the strength of our country.”
