Tedisco, NYS Senate Honors State Wrestling Champion Tyler Barnes from Ballston Spa High School

Senator Jim Tedisco (R,C,I, REF-Glenville) today honored the New York State Public High School Athletic Association 170-Pound Division 1 State Wrestling Champion Tyler Barnes, a junior at Ballston Spa High School, and presented him with a copy of a resolution he sponsored that unanimously passed the New York State Senate. 

This is Ballston Spa’s first state championship in wrestling. Barnes won the state title in wrestling on February 25th at the Times Union Center in Albany with a 5-2 win over number three-seeded John Glenn High School from Elwood, Long Island in the 170-pound Division 1 finale. Tyler’s father, Terry Barnes, was the runner up for Ballston Spa in the state finals in 1995.
