Senator Pamela A. Helming (R,C,I-Canandaigua) greets Dr. Gregory Vincent, the incoming President of Hobart and William Smith Colleges, during a visit at the Colleges in Geneva Monday, July 17, 2017. Senator Helming and President Vincent spoke about how they can work together for the betterment of Geneva as a whole as well as the Colleges in particular. The day marked Dr. Vincent’s first official day on the job as the 27th President of Hobart College and 16th President of William Smith College. He succeeds President Mark Gearan, who completed this month a record 18-year tenure as the leader of the Colleges.
“Dr. Vincent is a 1983 graduate of Hobart and William Smith Colleges, so he already knows what a terrific community we have here in the Finger Lakes region, but nevertheless it was a pleasure to welcome him back to our area. I look forward to working with Dr. Vincent on future projects and events, particularly as he leads one of the two four-year higher education institutions in the 54th District. We will have great partnership regarding the betterment of our community,” Senator Helming said.
Senator Helming represents the 54th Senate District, which consists of Seneca and Wayne Counties, parts of Cayuga and Ontario Counties, and the towns of Lansing and Webster. For more information, please visit Senator Helming’s website, or follow @SenatorHelming on Facebook or Twitter.
