State Funding for Burrous Building in Wellsville will Encourage Job Creation and Economic Growth
May 11, 2018
“My congratulations go out to Mayor Shayler and the Wellsville community on the wonderful news that $4.5 million in state funding is on its way to help launch the exciting transformation of the historic Burrous building. We have worked long and hard to bring this project to fruition, recognizing its great potential to revitalize Wellsville’s downtown corridor into a thriving destination that will breathe new life into the economy and future of this community.
This award is a vote of confidence by New York State in the solid, well-crafted plan that we developed in partnership with the village, town, the Alfred Housing Committee and developer Two Plus Four. I was glad to help secure $200,000 in grant funding for the project and to support the application for these funds from New York State Homes & Community Renewal. The entire effort has been an inspiring reminder of the great things we can achieve for our communities when we work together.
Wellsville is on the cusp of a spectacular new chapter in its history. My thanks go out to Governor Cuomo, Commissioner RuthAnne Visnauskas and everyone who helped make this achievement possible.”
