Senator Elaine Phillips announced today that she has been appointed to serve on three key New York State budget subcommittees. Senator Phillips will serve on the Transportation, General Government/Local Assistance and Education committees that will review details of the 2018-2019 Executive Budget proposal.

“It is an honor be appointed to these subcommittees that will serve a critical role in this year’s budget negotiations,” Senator Elaine Phillips said. “My Senate Republican colleagues and I continue our commitment to lowering taxes, making Long Island more affordable for hardworking taxpayers, allowing businesses to thrive and create jobs to stimulate the local economy and provide upgrades to aging infrastructure.”

The Senate’s 10 individual budget conference subcommittees will begin meeting next week to put forward the Senate’s priorities for this year’s budget negotiations

The Senate Majority’s broad-based agenda, “Blueprint for a Stronger New York,” will be a key foundation of this year’s state budget. The focus will be on affordability, opportunity and security.
