Tedisco: Luna Reprieve, The Christmas Miracle!
Senator Jim Tedisco

Senator Jim Tedisco (R,C,I,REF-Glenville) today hailed the just-announced agreement by Troy City Court and Mohawk Hudson Humane Society to lift the death sentence on the 6-year-old dog Luna and enable her to soon go home to her family for the holidays.
Last week, Senator Tedisco joined with the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society to call on Governor Andrew Cuomo to use his constitutional power to issue a pardon in order to help save Luna’s life. That galvanized tens of thousands of New Yorkers from the Capital Region and beyond to contact the Governor and the Troy City Court to urge that the dog’s life be spared.
“Luna lives! There truly are Christmas miracles and Luna’s life being spared is one of them. This is a victory for Luna, her family, and the tens of thousands of people who have stepped forward to be her voice and help save the life of this sweet and loving dog that the experts at Mohawk Hudson Humane Society agree does not pose a danger to anyone. This goes to show that the most powerful voices in our representative democracy are not the government officials but the people, who in this case, spoke up to be the voice for the least of our creatures,” said Senator Tedisco.
