Sen. Helming Meets With Local Superintendents from Across Wayne-Finger Lakes Region

ALBANY – Senator Pam Helming met recently with local school district superintendents from across the Wayne-Finger Lakes region during their trip to the State Capitol. Within the region and across the state, public schools are facing increasing mandated costs and student learning and support needs that demand additional state aid through the State Budget. The meeting between Senator Helming and local district superintendents focused on the education portion of the proposed Executive Budget, which was released earlier this month, and the need to fully fund the actual costs of providing a sound public education in these communities.

“It’s always a pleasure to meet with local school district superintendents and teachers from across the Wayne-Finger Lakes region. Providing our schools with the funding necessary to ensure our students are receiving a quality education continues to be among my top priorities. I appreciate all of the superintendents and teachers who have taken the time out of their busy schedules to personally meet with me and share their legislative and budget priorities. I look forward to working with our superintendents and teachers to deliver the best results for our local schools,” Senator Helming said.
