CARLE PLACE, NY (December 5, 2019) -- Today, State Senator Anna M. Kaplan (D-Great Neck) presented the "New York State Senate 2019 Empire Business Award" to Colbeh Restaurant, a Persian kosher restaurant and catering business with locations in Great Neck, Roslyn, and Manhattan. The award was presented to owner Pejman Toobian in recognition of his outstanding contributions and dedication to the community and NY State.

"The best part of living in my Senate District is that you can experience the best cuisine from any culture around the world, all in one place. Colbeh serves the food of my culture, and I love to bring new people here to experience it for themselves." said Senator Anna M. Kaplan.

Recipients of the New York State Senate Empire Award are businesses that excel in their field while playing an active role in supporting their community.

Colbeh is known for being extremely generous in supporting local schools and community groups, helping out whenever asked. Colbeh also takes great care of the Town of North Hempstead seniors each year at the annual Persian Picnic.

Colbeh also recently prepared a feast of authentic Persian delicacies to be featured as part of a documentary series with Senator Kaplan to raise awareness and broaden understanding of Persian culture.

Senator Anna M. Kaplan concluded "Colbeh truly represents the best of what a business can be, and I'm so proud to present them with a 2019 New York State Senate Empire Award in recognition of their contributions to our community."
