Skoufis Applauds $290,693 in Emergency Services Grants for Orange & Ulster Counties
Senator James Skoufis (D-Hudson Valley) applauded the announcement that Orange and Ulster Counties will receive $290,693 in available grant funding for emergency response operations. Orange County will receive $167,029 and Ulster County will receive $123,664. The funding is administered by the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services through the Public Safety Answering Points Operations Grant.
“Giving emergency service providers the resources and support they need to enhance the very services that keep us all safe is of the utmost importance,” said Senator Skoufis. “This funding is essential for Orange and Ulster County first responders as they continue to put their lives on the line to help keep our residents safe. I was happy to work with Senator Metzger to make sure this essential money was included in this year's state budget.”
These grants provide state reimbursement to counties for public safety operating and dispatching expenses.
