#S1082A This bill would require driver's education/defensive driving instructors to include proper behavior when stopped by a law enforcement officer as a part of driving instruction courses.

#S2145 Directs counties and the city of New York to contact a veterans' organization to provide for the disposition of the unclaimed remains of a deceased veteran when such veteran has no next of kin or other person designated to provide for the disposition of his or her remains.

#S2069 Would authorize the Department of Agriculture and Markets to aid in the promotion of New York grown farm products for holiday celebrations by providing information about New York growers to vendors who sell such products and to municipalities where vendors sell them on sidewalks or lots or streets.

#S1864 Relates to the redemption of real property subject to a delinquent tax lien. Provides that the redemption period for vacant and abandoned properties to one year provided that the property has been placed on a vacant and abandoned property roll, registry, or list prior to the date on which the taxes become delinquent. Also provides for an expedited foreclosure process for vacant and abandoned residential real property.

The alienation of municipal parkland should be limited to instances of compelling public need where no other alternative is available, and should be accompanied by replacement parkland.

#S748 Provides an exemption from jury duty for breastfeeding women; allows that such breastfeeding mother's jury duty shall be postponed up to two years after the date on which such service otherwise is to commence.

#S3125 This bill requires feminine hygiene products to be offered for free in charter schools and would establish parity with public schools who are already required to offer feminine hygiene products, without cost to students.

#S2505 To allow one or both parties to a marriage to elect to change their middle name on their marriage license to his or her current last name, any former last name he or she has had, or the last name of the other spouse.

#S1632A Prohibits the operation of any motor vehicle equipped with a device which affects the operation of traffic-control signals; provides that the possession of such a device shall constitute a traffic infraction, use thereof is a class A misdemeanor and use which results in personal injury or death shall constitute a class E felony. This bill further prohibits the purchase, manufacture or installation of such product. Excludes authorized emergency vehicles and public transportation vehicles.

#S1719C Establishes unlawful dissemination or publication of an intimate image. Unlawful dissemination is a class A misdemeanor. Cases may be brought in both criminal and family courts. This bill also authorizes persons to file a private right of action against any individual who, for the purpose of harassing, annoying or alarming such person, disseminate or published or threatened to disseminate or publish a still or video image. Set forth criteria.

#S2625 Expands the crimes included in domestic violence to include identity theft, grand larceny and coercion, for purposes of assistance to victims thereof.

#S2714 Provides that when a local social services district is in contact with a relative or non-relative kinship caregiver or a suitable person who the district has approached about being a kinship caregiver, such district shall provide written information to such caregivers or prospective suitable persons; further provides that such information shall include, but not be limited to, information relating to child only grants; information about how to become a kinship foster parent and other options for care; and information on how to contact the department of family assistance kinship programs and any resources funded through or operating in the local social services district for relative and non-relative kinship caregivers, including those that provide supportive services for all relative and non-relative kinship caregivers in the district.

#S1820 The SFY 2018-2019 enacted budget included a two-year moratorium on the processing and approval of Licensed Home Care Services Agency (LHCSA) applications seeking licensure. This bill establishes an additional exception to the moratorium that would allow the commissioner of the NYS Department of Health to exercise his discretion when determining whether the Public Health and Health Planning Council considers a LHCSA application for approval.

#S2497 Adds a new section to the Vehicle and Traffic Law forbidding the leaving of a child under the age of 10 inside a motor vehicle under conditions that present a substantial health or safety risk. Punishable by a fine of not more than $50 for the first offense, $100 for a second offense (within 18 months) and $250 for a third offense (all of which were committed within 18 months).

#S3291 Provides for the creation of a drug guide for seniors regarding the drugs commonly used by people over 62 years of age; provides that such guide will include functions and drug interactions.
